‘Wondered’ Returns for 10th Anniversary Limited Season
After a decade of mystery and madness, ‘Wondered’ is making its highly anticipated return for a limited season at Ron Hurley Theatre for one weekend only.
Mira Ball Productions’ award-winning theatrical thriller, a dark reimagining of ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’, is set to captivate audiences once more with its signature mix of gothic horror and psychological intrigue.
First performed in 2015, ‘Wondered’ quickly became a festival circuit sensation, earning over 40 awards, including Best New Australian Script. The fast-paced, one-act thriller delves into the mind of the Mad Hatter, twisting the classic tale into a gripping exploration of identity, madness, and Wonderland’s eerie underbelly.
Leading the cast is Reagan Warner (‘A Midnight Visit’, ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’), returning as the enigmatic Hatter. He is joined by Sophie Mason (‘The Little Mermaid’, ‘Les Misérables’) as Alice, Jennifer B Ashley (‘Into The Woods’, ‘The Wedding Singer’) as Ches, Jaya Fisher-Smith (‘Head Over Heels’, ‘A Night With The Villains’) as Dee, and Peter Wood (‘Scenes From a Yellow Peril’, ‘Once On This Island’) as Dum.

Writer and director Elodie Boal marks the 10th anniversary by expanding the world of ‘Wondered’, bringing new layers to the production.
“Wondered has always been a Wonderland unlike any other,” said Boal.
“After ten years, it’s thrilling to revisit this world with a new cast and a new vision. I’ve added more to the text, so it’s been exciting to even return to Wonderland myself. Audiences, both returning and new, can expect new surprises at every corner in this show.”
The production boasts an acclaimed creative team, with makeup, hair, and scenic design by Rosie Humphreys, costumes by Jackie Fredericksen, lighting design by Tony Kerr, and sound design by Mal Boal.
The show’s immersive, high-energy approach has been described as “Edgar Allan Poe meets Lewis Carroll,” and noted as “a gothic horror twist on the Mad Hatter’s tea party.”
Tickets for Wondered are on sale now at TryBooking. Don’t miss the chance to experience the madness before it disappears down the rabbit hole once more.
