Seann Miley Moore to Star in ‘Hedwig and the Angry Inch’

Australian stages are set to sizzle in 2025 with the announcement that Seann Miley Moore will star as Hedwig in the legendary rock musical ‘Hedwig and the Angry Inch’.

The critically acclaimed production will premiere at the Adelaide Festival in February before embarking on a tour to Melbourne and Sydney.

‘Hedwig and the Angry Inch’ is a gritty, electrifying exploration of love, identity, and resilience. Written by John Cameron Mitchell, with music and lyrics by Stephen Trask, the Tony Award-winning musical has captivated audiences worldwide with its raw, rebellious energy.

At the centre of the production is Hedwig, a fierce and fractured anti-heroine grappling with themes of love, survival, and self-discovery. Seann Miley Moore, known for their powerful stage presence and soaring vocals, is poised to bring Hedwig to life. Moore’s star has been rising, with standout performances as the Engineer in ‘Miss Saigon’ and on stages such as The Voice Australia and X Factor UK, where their emotional performances moved audiences and judges alike.

This new production will honour the grungy spirit of the original while introducing a bold visual spectacle, thanks to queer fashion icons Katie-Louise and Lilian Nicol-Ford of Nicol & Ford, who are designing custom costumes for the show.

Co-directed by Shane Anthony and Dino Dimitriadis, with musical direction by Victoria Falconer and set design by Jeremy Allen, ‘Hedwig and the Angry Inch’ promises to be an unmissable theatrical event.
