‘A Very Naughty Christmas’ returns this Festive Season
The cheekiest Christmas tradition is back! ‘A Very Naughty Christmas’, the adults-only festive comedy, has announced its casts for the Melbourne and Queensland seasons, promising to bring plenty of laughs, irreverence, and cheeky holiday spirit to audiences this year.
Returning as the mischievous Santa in Melbourne is Tim Paige (‘Macbeth’, ‘Comedy of Errors’), bringing his signature wit and daring charm to the role. Joining him are Kate Yaxley (‘Groundhog Day’) and Jordan Twigg (‘Billy Elliott’, ‘Beautiful: The Carole King Musical’), both reprising their roles from last year’s Melbourne show. Also starring are Grace Laing (‘The Voice’), Justin Wise (‘Marvelous The Show’), Jarrod Moore (‘Moulin Scrooge’), Callum Marshall (‘Elvis: A Musical Revolution’), and Asmara Soekotjo (‘Miss Saigon’, ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’).
In Queensland, the role of Santa will be played by three-time Matilda Awards winner Steve Rooke (‘Fourteen’). He’ll be joined by returning cast members Dan Erbacher (‘Grease’, ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’), Aurélie Roque (‘Rent’), Taylah Ferguson (‘Palazzo Mannheim’), and Emily Kristopher (Crackermilk). Rounding out the Queensland cast are Anthony Craig (‘Elvis: A Musical Revolution’), Lauren Jimmieson (‘Elvis: A Musical Revolution’), and Lachlan Greenland (Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines).
Co-creator and Executive Producer Alex Woodward expressed his excitement about the talent assembled for this year’s show.
“The fun that audiences have at ‘A Very Naughty Christmas’ is only possible with a cast who bring irreverence and fun to the stage, and don’t take themselves too seriously. These casts guarantee that audiences in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Gold Coast will go straight on Santa’s naughty list!”
Since its debut in 2017, ‘A Very Naughty Christmas’ has become a cult favourite, blending stand-up comedy, skits, song parodies, dancing, burlesque, and a heavy dose of festive silliness. Aimed squarely at audiences 18+, the show has drawn comparisons to ‘Magic Mike’ and ‘La Clique’, but with a Christmas twist.
This year, the show will play in Brisbane at La Boite Theatre, The Star Gold Coast, and Melbourne’s Alex Theatre St. Kilda.
