“Before the Parade Passes By” Returns to PIP Theatre
In a much-anticipated comeback, local Brisbane artist Fiona Buchanan is set to grace the stage at PIP Theatre for an encore performance of her self-penned cabaret, ‘Before the Parade Passes By.’ Following the resounding success of the initial July 2023 show, Buchanan is ready to captivate audiences once again as part of PIP Theatre’s inaugural Toucan Club Cabaret and Live Arts Festival.
Buchanan, a seasoned performer with roots in Liverpool, takes her audience on a riveting journey from the heart of England to the vibrant city of Brisbane. The cabaret, set against the backdrop of life’s unpredictable twists and turns, weaves a compelling narrative through heartfelt storytelling and musical prowess.
Musical theatre enthusiasts can expect a treat as Buchanan brings to life some of her favorite pieces, including iconic selections like ‘Don’t Rain on My Parade’ from Funny Girl, ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ from The Wizard of Oz, ‘Wouldn’t It Be Loverly’ from My Fair Lady, ‘Mister Cellophane’ from Chicago, and the eponymous ‘Before the Parade Passes By’ from Hello Dolly!
Building upon the triumph of its initial run, ‘Before the Parade Passes By’ promises a rejuvenated experience for attendees. The encore performance boasts additional songs, moments of uproarious laughter, and an abundance of love, creating a magical atmosphere for spectators.
Expressing her enthusiasm, Fiona Buchanan remarked, “I’m incredibly excited to bring back ‘Before the Parade Passes By’ to PIP Theatre. The response from the first show was overwhelming, and this time, we’re adding even more magic to the mix. Audiences can expect a night filled with beautiful moments, incredible music, and of course, some humor along the way.”
The one-night-only encore performance is not to be missed, offering a unique opportunity for those who couldn’t catch the first run.
