Experience the Greatest Female Performers with ‘DIVAS’ at QPAC
Bernadette Robinson is set to make her return to Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) this July, with her latest show ‘DIVAS’.
Playing from 20-23 July, Robinson’s show will light up the Playhouse Theatre with a celebration of some of the most beloved female performers of all time.
Robinson, who has performed in a number of successful shows including ‘Songs for Nobodies’, ‘Pennsylvania Avenue’, and ‘The Show Goes On’, will take the audience on a musical journey through the greatest hits of ten of the most iconic divas in popular music history. These will include performances from Edith Piaf, Amy Winehouse, Shirley Bassey, Barbra Streisand, Maria Callas, Kate Bush, Dolly Parton, Karen Carpenter, Miley Cyrus, and Judy Garland.
“I aspire to bring to life ten of the most wondrous voices of our time. Each singer is so utterly thrilling. To honour them through my own voice and heart is an enormous challenge and a privilege,” says Robinson.
Directed and co-devised by Simon Phillips, who has worked with Robinson for more than 10 years, the show promises to be a truly stunning event.
“I’ve worked with Bernadette for over a decade and my awe at her talent remains undiminished. Every time she opens her mouth to ‘become’ a new singing legend, I shake my head in disbelief,” says Phillips.
“I should be used to it, but it never ceases to amaze and thrill me. And this new show adds several brand-new divas to her repertoire, making it extra exciting.”
‘DIVAS’ will be backed by a live on-stage band, who will help Robinson deliver an incredible music-filled performance – sure to be a night to remember for music lovers and fans of the performing arts alike.
The powerful performance will play at QPAC’s Playhouse Theatre from 20 July 2023. Tickets for ‘DIVAS; are on sale now and can be purchased through qpac.com.au or by calling 136 246.
