Darkness, fear and heart-pounding thrills
After successful runs in both 2020 and 2021, the highly acclaimed multi-sensory series, DARKFIELD, is making its long-awaited return to Melbourne.
From May 26 audiences are invited to enter all four of its shipping container experiences – SÉANCE, FLIGHT, COMA and EULOGY – and be engulfed in complete darkness. The experiences will challenge their grasp on reality, and play with their sensory perception.
The 2022 season will mark the Victorian premiere of COMA and EULOGY, but both will be accompanied by the returning seasons of SÉANCE and FLIGHT. The experiences created by DARKFIELD have received critical acclaim, and Theatre Haus has reviewed several which can be found on our review page.
Playing at 138 Little Bourke St., Melbourne, the shipping container shows will each explore themes of fear, anxiety and heart-pounding thrill. Audience members with sensory issues or perception sensitivities are warned to thoroughly research the experiences before attending and make an informed judgement call based on one’s own abilities and limitations.
“We are so excited to announce DARKFIELD’s long-overdue return to Melbourne, where it all began for us,” said Amy Johnson, producer at Realscape Productions.
“We can’t wait to see the reactions of Melbourne audiences as they experience COMA and EULOGY for the first time, and it only made sense for us to bring back SÉANCE and FLIGHT for those who missed out on our previous sell-out seasons.”
Melbourne-based producers Realscape Productions are presenting DARKFIELD’s mind-bending 360-degree binaural sound experiences, which grip the senses and send audiences into a deep immersive experience, leaving them questioning what is real and what is imagined.
Team members from Theatre Haus have attended these experiences in the past and were thoroughly impressed by the magnitude and creativity involved in their creation.
